memento mori

memento mori or remember you will die in latin.  this jewelry carries a clear and simple message; you will die and until then you should enjoy the life you have.  once a way to remember death at the time of an individual's death later, memento mori developed into a way to commemorate loved ones.  motifs often include skulls, coffins, worms and skeletons and use enamel, dark stones and hair.  my collection of memento mori jewelry is comprised of original memento mori pieces, modified memento mori and mourning jewelry as well as pieces inspired by memento mori.  All of these pieces have been collected or created by Roy and Julia Rover, who combine years of expertise and knowledge to bring to life an incredible group of limited edition and one of a kind heirlooms. i'm grateful that life has brought me to them.
